General Teen-courses – This is a new 21st century classroom course. The coursebook system is Beyond which is a new six-level course for teenagers, from A1+ to B2. The course is based on detailed CEFR mapping and helps to prepare students for international exams.

The Preliminary English Test is one of the Cambridge English exams.

Who is it for?

Do this test if you want to know that you have an intermediate level of English. With this level of English you will enjoy holidays in English speaking countries. You should probably continue studying once you have passed the PET exam.

What is the PET test like?

The test has these sections:

1. Reading Writing are taken together – 90 minutes

2. Listening – 30 minutes

3. Speaking – an interview, 10 minutes

There are two versions of the PET test:

1. PET

2. PET for Schools

Both versions have the same type of questions. The PET for schools test has content of interest to school-age learners.

Paper-based or computer-based exams

You can do the PET exam on a computer or on paper. The computer-based exam is available once a month. The paper-based exam is only available six times a year.

Ready for First is the new, third edition of our popular preparation course aimed at young adult students training for the Cambridge English: First exam. Ready for Advanced is based on thorough exam preparation structure. Special language focus sections encourage analysis of the main grammar areas at this advanced level. Skills for all papers are covered and there is a complete practice speaking test included. The Student’s Book provides complete grammar and vocabulary syllabuses as a useful reference point with new reading texts and in-depth coverage of the combined Reading and Use of English paper to develop exam confidence. Each Coursebook is packaged with a code to access Macmillan Practice Online, providing students with even more material for exam preparation.

To start this course a level of C1/ Advanced/ is required.

Who is it for?

If you can communicate with confidence in English for work or study purposes, this is the exam for you. CAE is taken by more than 60,000 people each year in more than 60 countries. CAE is one of the Cambridge exams.

What is the CAE test like?

The test has four sections:

Reading & Use of English – 90 minutes

Writing – 2 tasks , 90 minutes

Listening – 40 minutes, 30 questions

Speaking – interview, normally with another candidate, 15 minutes

CAE pass is accepted for entry to some universities.

The Reading and Use of English section counts for 40% of the marks.

The Writing, Listening & Speaking sections each count for 20% of the marks.

You will receive a Statement of Results. If your performance ranges between CEFR Levels B2 and C2, you will also receive a certificate.

Pass grades:

Grade A (C2), Grade B (C1), Grade C (C1)

If you do not pass, but still do reasonably well you are issued a B2 certificate.

This IELTS preparation course combines the successful elements of the Ready for series and an experienced author team to ensure students aiming for IELTS bands 5-6.5/7 are ready for success.All four skills are systematically and progressively developed and practised in each unit, while in-depth exam training is presented in the ‘What to expect in the exam’ and ‘How to go about it’ help boxes. There is a complete IELTS grammar syllabus, and vocabulary and word-building skills make up a key part of the course.

To start this course a level of B2(Upper-Intermediate) is required.

You can choose between the Academic or General Training versions of the test.All candidates do the same Listening and Speaking sections.
